Shoebox chaos goes in. Monthly close comes out. We run QuickBooks Online so you know what the work actually made, and you get the hours back.
Thirty seconds to tell us what you run and where the books stand. If it is not a fit, we say so.
I’ll reply from adam@blackholebookkeeping.com on the next business day (Mon–Thu).
Books, payroll, cleanup, and QBO setup for operators who care about real job costs.
Daily transactions, recs, and month-end close so the bank and the jobs match.
Crew paid right, records clean. You manage the team. We run the process.
Behind on the books? We dig out, rec, get you current, then hold a monthly close.
QBO structured like the work: jobs, costs, and reports you actually open.
One operator. Construction and manufacturing. Not a general SMB mill.
Before bookkeeping full-time, Adam spent over a decade in construction, production, and manufacturing: job sites, operations, tight deadlines, material costs, and crews. We know a change order from a purchase order.
Manufacturing is the same idea on a line: job or work-order costing, material and labor, production payroll. Your time is better spent bidding work and shipping product.
Based in Alabama. Serving construction and manufacturing remotely across the U.S.
Starting rates below. Final quote depends on transaction volume, employees, and how messy the file is.

What owners usually ask before they hand over the books.
Construction and manufacturing businesses that need accurate books, job costing, and payroll without the accounting jargon. Based in Alabama; clients are remote nationwide. Not a fit for restaurants, ecommerce, tax-only work, or bonding-heavy GCs that need weekly certified payroll and full WIP packages.
We work in your QuickBooks Online file (or help you set one up), pull bank feeds and docs securely, close the books monthly, and send clear reports. You keep owner access. We use an accountant user. Email for questions. No office visit required.
Yes. Catch-up and cleanup are common: months or years of unreconciled accounts, messy categories, or a shoebox start. We scope the mess, quote the cleanup, then move you to a steady monthly close.
Yes. We track labor, materials, and overhead by job so you can see true project profitability and bid with better numbers. That includes progress billing support when your workflow needs it.
We are bookkeepers, not a CPA firm. We organize the books and reports your tax pro needs. Formal tax preparation, audits, and legal advice stay with your CPA or attorney unless we agree otherwise in writing. Certified payroll and lender WIP packages are not a standard service.
Send a short snapshot: industry, QBO yes or no, roughly how far behind, and whether you need monthly books, payroll, cleanup, or all three. We reply with fit and a starting range.
Monday through Thursday, 9am–3pm Central. Send a snapshot anytime. We respond on the next business day.
Monthly bookkeeping starts at $350 per month. Payroll starts at $250 per month. Final pricing depends on transaction volume, employees, and complexity. Catch-up and QuickBooks setup are scoped per project. Quote before any work. Month-to-month.
Same form as above. Email still works if you would rather write it yourself.
